These lines of Subhadra
Kumari Chauhan immortalized Lakshmibai in the pages of history. Now it is the
turn of Kangana Ranaut, who has the responsibility of immortalizing Rani
Lakshmibai on her shoulders. After several controversies, the film is being
released on the occasion of Republic Day. Now whether Kangana has been
successful in fulfilling this responsibility or not know in this review.
The film begins
with Amitabh Bachchan's strong voice. Hearing the voice of Amitabh Bachchan,
you will have memories of Lagaan. Manikarnika aka Manu, the adopted daughter of
Peshwa (Suresh Oberoi), is courageous and beautiful from birth. In such a
situation, Rajguru (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) looks at them. Impressed by Manu's
courage and valour, he marries Jhansi's King Gangadhar Rao Navelkar (Jishu
Sengupta). In such a situation, Manu becomes the queen of Jhansi.
It was never
acceptable to bow the head of the queen of Jhansi to the British. She is happy
to give an heir to Jhansi that now the British will not be able to seize his
authority with bad intentions. But the house-piercing Sadashiv (Mohammed
Zeeshan Ayub) conspires and destroys Laxmibai's lap and then takes the throne
through the British.
First of all,
when we talk about Kangana Ranaut's acting, it seems that Jhansi's Rani Laxmibai's
role was made for her. Perhaps her performance in this film makes the queen
forget. However, Ankita Lokhande has not been given much screen time in the
role of Jhalkari Bai. But, she has managed to make her presence felt in her
first film.
Danny's
performance in Ghulam Gaus Khan's role proves that he still has the same edge.
At the same time, Jishusen Gupta in the role of Gangadhar Rao, Suresh Oberoi in
the role of Peshwa and Kulbhushan Kharbanda in the role of Rajguru have played
their role well.
Manakarnika is
not a war drama like Sanjay Leela Bhansali's films. But, the makers have taken
great care of the scale of this film. The best part of the film is its action.
Whether it is Kangana Ranaut herself or Actress Ankita Lakhande, who is
stepping into Bollywood from TV. It is exciting to see both of them fencing on
the screen. The film's background music and sound will add the same vigour as
the 1857 revolution. Now talk about the direction.
The film is
directed mainly by Kangana, apart from Radha Krishna, Jagalamudi. Kangana has
handled this responsibility well despite many controversies and conflicts. It
is a wonder of direction that the last 40 minutes of the film will make your
hair stand up.
Its second half
is its weaker link than the first half of the film. At the same time, Kangana's
manner of speaking in the film is quite bad. Apart from this, the lack of
consistency in the film is also visible. The film's weakest part was its
villain. Actors playing the role of villain of the film lacked brightness. This
film has again proved that calling foreign actors to Hindi is still crooked.
