Nowadays, crime based Web series based on real stories are
being liked a lot. After popular web series like 'Mirzapur', 'Sacred Games',
'Abduction' and 'Patal Lok', once again the free streaming OTT platform MX
player has brought the first season of its original web series 'Raktanchal' to
the audience. The story of Raktanchal web series is based on Crime and emerging mafia raj, gang war and
domination in the mid-80s in Purvanchal in Uttar Pradesh.
The story of 'Raktanchal' starts from 1984 when the father
of Vijay Singh (Kranthi Prakash Jha), who wants to become a simple and IAS of
the village, is murdered by gangster Wasim Khan (Nikitan Dhir). After this, in
order to avenge the murder of his father, Vijay Singh leaves his schooling and
goes into the world of crime. Over time, Vijay Singh's strength increases so
much that he directly challenges Wasim Khan's supremacy. From these two gangs,
rivers of blood flow in Purvanchal, the story of which is 'Raktanchal'.
It would not be wrong to say that Anurag Kashyap's 'Gangs
of Wasseypur' in Bollywood has given audiences a taste of crime drama films and
series that one such series is coming in front of the audience. The story will
bind you from the very first episode of 'Raktanchal'. Kranti Prakash Jha has
played the role of Hero Vijay Singh in the web series. After films like 'MS Dohni
: The Untold Story', 'Batla House' and TV series 'Swami Ramdev- Ek Sangharsh',
Kranti Prakash has been overshadowed by his acting and dialogue delivery in
'Raktanchal'. Nikitan Dheer seems dangerous in the role of Villan Wasim Khan
but he needs to work a lot on his facial expression and dialogue delivery.
Apart from both the lead roles, Ravi Khanvilkar in the role
of corrupt politician Pujari Singh and Vikram Kochhar in the character of Wasim
Khan's goon freak are quite strong. Ronjini Chakraborty's character Seema and
Krishna Bisht's character Katta arrive quite late but leave an impression.
Pramod Pathak plays the role of Tripurari. Politician Saheb Singh's character
could have been improved but in this role, the best actors like Daya Shankar
Pandey have not been handled properly.
The story of 'Raktanchal' has been written by Ranjit,
Sarvesh Upadhyay and Shashank Rahi of Sanjeev. Director Ritam Srivastava has
completely tied the atmosphere of the mid-80s in 'Raktanchal'. The politics of
Hindu-Muslim and Ram temple in Uttar Pradesh in the late 80s has also been
included. The story of 'Raktanchal' is good but the dialogues have been
somewhat weak which only managed to leave a limited impact on the audience. In
the story, Vijay Singh's love story could be shown properly, which has been
reduced to a few scenes.
2 songs are been filmised into the webseries and are very good. The webseries story gets ended at that point for that you will have to wait for the second episode of the webseries.
